The Tenth is a bi-annual publication that documents the history, culture, ideas, and aesthetics of the Black LGBTQ community. In Volume Five, we meet the Black queer romantic—of past periods and vast lands—to explore a legacy of repugnant revulsion against the established order. This issue asks, “Can we escape our identities in the pursuit of great works?” and visits with those who are prepared to go to the stake for something they believe in, because they believe in it.
